Comprehensive Dentistry Services
At Victoria Family Dentistry in Victoria, TX, your family’s oral health is important to us. Dr. Rachel C. Heard and her team provide cosmetic, restorative, and family dentistry services to help you and your loved ones experience smiles that are not only healthy, but also beautiful. We also offer complimentary sedation to assist our patients who may struggle with dental anxiety or have difficulty sitting for long periods.
Cosmetic Dentistry
For patients wishing to improve the appearance of their smiles, Dr. Heard offers a range of fully customized treatments:
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding can be an excellent way to conceal any number of small flaws affecting individual teeth. Gaps, chips, intrinsic stains, and small cracks are just some of the issues bonding can address in one simple visit. During the procedure, Dr. Heard will carefully sculpt a small amount of dental composite onto the tooth. After the desired appearance is achieved, a special light will be used to harden the composite and permanently bond it to your tooth.
Teeth Whitening
Professional teeth whitening treatments give faster, more impressive results than over-the-counter whitening products, and cause less sensitivity during treatment. Teeth whitening not only enhances the appearance of your smile, but can also complement your entire appearance to help you look rejuvenated.
Porcelain Veneers
Similar to bonding, porcelain veneers can conceal imperfections and enhance the size, shape, color, or texture of the front surfaces of your teeth. Veneers are thin shells of highly durable dental porcelain that can be crafted to look virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Smile Makeover
Smile makeovers can incorporate teeth whitening, dental bonding, porcelain veneers, and other treatments. Every smile makeover patient is presented with a wax mock-up that serves as a preview of the results, so you can be sure to achieve the beautiful smile you desire.
Restorative Dentistry
We offer a variety of restorative treatments to repair the effects of decay and trauma:
Tooth-Colored Fillings
We use tooth-colored fillings to restore permanent teeth. While silver amalgam fillings can compromise the appearance of your smile, tooth-colored fillings are hardly noticeable. We also offer stainless steel fillings, which are usually the best solution for treating cavities in baby teeth.
Your family’s oral health is important to us. We offer a full range of dentistry services to keep your loved ones' smiles healthy and bright.
Dental Crowns
These tooth-shaped caps can protect teeth following a root canal or dental trauma. Crowns can also be used in conjunction with a dental implant to replace a single lost tooth.
Dental Implants
If you have lost one or more teeth, dental implants can replace lost tooth roots and provide the ultimate support for replacement teeth. Dr. Heard's husband is a periodontist, and she refers all implant placement to him.
Bridges
Dental bridges are used to replace one or more consecutive missing teeth. They can be supported by dental implants or adjacent dental crowns.
Implant-Supported and Conventional Dentures
We provide custom dentures to restore the function, balance, and appearance of your smile.
Periodontal Treatments
Gum disease can take a serious toll on your oral health if left untreated. Our treatments can address gum disease at any stage.
Extractions
If a tooth cannot be saved, we can use sedation and gentle techniques to achieve virtually painless tooth extraction.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
We can combine any necessary treatments to provide a comprehensive restoration of your entire smile.
Family Dentistry
Preventive dental visits are crucial to avoiding the need for extensive treatment. We offer routine treatments for every member of your family. During your six-month visits, we will perform a full dental cleaning to remove any buildup of plaque and tartar, preventing cavities from forming. We also provide fluoride treatment to strengthen your teeth against decay, as well as dental sealants to create a barrier against bacteria in the deep ridges of your molars.
In addition to examining your teeth for signs of decay, Dr. Heard will also check for signs of other issues, such as oral cancer, temporomandibular joint disorder, and teeth grinding (bruxism).
